Cedar Cottage Meander sits snugly against 50 acres of reclaimed bush that’s slowly re-wilding with native species.
Slow down and unwind in a hand-built cottage perched on the edge of a beautiful valley.
Tranquil and private, the property is home to critically endangered forest, plenty of birds and wildlife, plus a nightly chorus of singing frogs.
QUALITY AND CRAFT
The cottage is clad entirely in Western red cedar shingles.
Tassie timbers like Huon pine, Tasmanian myrtle, Blackwood and Blackheart sassafras construct the kitchen, floors, dado boards and furniture.
You’ll find appreciation for craft everywhere you look: from the Myrtle heartwood floors, Huon pine kitchen, hand-split post and rail fences; to the hand-printed cushion and yukata robe fabrics.
This might be the bush, but we have robust WIFI, smart-lock entry, hardwired USB charging, portable BOSE Bluetooth speaker, LED Barebones lanterns and free streaming media channels.
Four generations of family love it here and we hope you do too.

Think of it as your kitchen away from home.
We are self-catering, but we supply some essentials to get you started, such as local farmhouse butter, real milk, premium Tassie loose leaf teas, local micro-roasted coffee beans and couverture hot chocolate.
If you don’t feel like cooking, let us arrange a delicious Tassie tasting platter on your arrival.
ECO TOILETRIES
We supply ethical and 100% natural toiletries from Milie Organics, a premium Tasmanian eco-skincare company.
Ingredients are organic and primarily sourced from Tasmania.
We use refillable containers in place of single-use plastics, and provide cotton face cloths for make up removal.
LUXE COMFORT
Luxuriate in sustainable French flax linen from the impossibly chic, Carlotta and G.
Dry off with Fairtrade organic cotton bath sheets.
Curl up with soft woollen throw rugs and an intriguing book from our guest library.
We provide cotton yukata robes in summer, snuggly spa robes in winter, and biodegradable slippers all year-round.

We’ll provide the marshmallows and an open fire cooking kit, including leather BBQ roll, cast iron Dutch oven, pans and BBQ tools.
